I have to applaud Texas for making the much needed history and social studies changes in their textbooks. I hope they will continue in their wisdom and change science and math to make it easier too. If they do that, I might consider actually sending my children to public school rather than home educating them. I know the liberals are getting bent out of shape, saying that these changes are basically re-writing history. My response is "How do you know? Were you there?" Even if these changes aren’t quite true to fact, they are at least teaching our children much better values. Ask yourself what you want your children to learn; confusing facts that are true but are in a moral gray area, or have everything simplified so that they can grow up to be good strong Christians that can understand why other religions are destroying this nation, and learn to fight against them.
This is our future if we don't remove the liberal math and science from textbooks!
Before I discuss what the next step should be regarding changes in math and science, I’d like to highlight some of the new changes that I think are quite brilliant:
- Removing Thomas Jeffersonfrom the Texas curriculum’s world history standards on Enlightenment thinking, "replacing him with religious right icon John Calvin." This is very wise. Thomas Jefferson didn’t believe in a Christian God, therefore he hated freedom. We should erase him from history books all together. What good can come from studying someone like that?
- Teachers in Texas will be required to cover the Judeo-Christian influences of the nation’s Founding Fathers, but not highlight the philosophical rationale for the separation of church and state. Finally! It’s about time.... Read the full story here!
