The President tells an aide: PLUG THE DAMN HOLE....
My sentiments too, because this is becoming an embarrassment of the highest caliber and it falls under the Obama Watch.
Yes, the Obama Watch. Even though we KNOW that this despicable department had all kind of bullshit, and illegal bullshit attached to it while Bush Co. was in charge, the problem is that it never was FIXED. And we are in year two of the Obama Watch. Thus....
it falls under our watch.
The most outrageous of this is that the oil boys filled out the government forms from MMS in PENCIL and the MMS (government regulators) then traced over it in pen.
CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports inspectors even went so far as to let oil companies literally fill out their own inspection reports using pencils. MMS inspectors would write on top of the pencil in ink and turn in the completed form.
Did you get that?
Also, let's not forget MMS druggin' up Big Pimpin' Style!!!
Two federal employees admitted using cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, and investigators found several others had used their government e-mail accounts to spread pornography and racist comments.
Did you catch that? And we knew about the problems of this division during the Bush Administration, that is the problem.
What angers me is that this little sham of a division has been on the radar for at LEAST 5 years. For anyone to say that the Obama Administration was unaware of this is just in denial. This big pimpin' division should have been on the "A LIST" of things "TO DO", as in "CLEAN IT THE FUCK UP". That is why many are angry with the Obama Administration and its failure that is called, Ken Salazar. I am with Lawrence O'Donnell, if BP's procedure does not work tomorrow, the White House desperate for a political move, need to ask for Salazar's resignation. He above EVERYONE kept that big pimpin' division on the business as usual tip and right now the President is paying a political price for it.
What we are witnessing is the destruction of the Gulf Coast as we knew it. After Hurricane Katrina this region has been fighting with bureaucracy from the government and frustration from insurance companies. This is the last straw. And many in this region are just very upset, they have gone through the ringer with the government under George W. Bush, but they never expected the slowness from the Obama Administration. This criticism may not be fair for some, but Barack Obama is President of the United States and this fell under his watch. These people have every right to be angry. How would you feel if you lived there and see this oil destroy your livelihood and ruin the environment as you know it, how would you feel? Yes, their anger is at BP but the other anger is at the Obama Administration and their aloofness, lack of leadership, which is all perception. It may not be fair, but he is the Head Man in that Oval Office, when disasters happen folks go to him, he is the representative of our government.
Finally, we need that "top kill" procedure to WORK. Will it totally close up the hole? We don't know, but it will cut the oil gush significantly, if not we are looking at August until a relief well is drilled and possibly capped. Did you read this AUGUST? Do you now understand the anger by the public and those folks in the Gulf Coast Region? That region is TOAST for a very long time. And we won't get into those toxic dispersants being thrown in the water. Now do we understand the magnitude of this? I am sorry that the President is pulled into this, but he is head of this government and has to take it. Remember, all of this happened under his watch and we need heavy prayers for this spill to be capped ASAP or it is going to be a long hot summer up to the November mid-term elections. And that MMS Division of the Interior Department has been an open would for everyone to smell, we just did not heal it. That is our fault and the blame is warranted.
