Friends, Fellow Kossacks,
My heart is broken, but circumstances have occurred over the last couple of days which make in necessary for me to move. I've lived in my place for twelve years, and haven't moved since my husband's death, and my disabilities are much more difficult now, so this will be a huge undertaking. This means that I'm really not able to devote the time to bringing together the March for Legal Accountability for Torture this year.
I had hoped and worked to bring it together on September 4th, the Saturday of Labour Day Weekend, but that is not to be. I am very, very sorry. Sometimes your life gets thrown into such a whirlwind that you have to put some things aside. I will fight to stop torture as the law, policy and practice of the United States, and to have those responsible held legally accountable until there is no longer breath in my body, but the March will have to be next year.
Thank you to all of you who have supported the March, with word and recs and deeds :) I look forward to working with you next year.
With apologies, and in great sadness,
Standing for justice and accountability,
For Dan,
Heather
