Progressive Democrat Claudia Wright has forced Blue Dog Jim Matheson into his first primary fight. Ms Wright received 45% of the vote to Mathesons' 55% at the Utah Democratic convention on May 5th. I have warned Matheson several times by e-mail that if he didn't stop voting with the Republicans and start voting with our President and our party then I would back a primary challenger against him. When he voted against health care reform, well I decided that I've just had about enough of Jim Matheson. The Utah Democratic primary is June 22. Matheson forced into runoff election.

U.S. leaders have not always been influenced so exclusively by special interests and corporate power. Historically, most were pragmatists, not ideologues; servants of the public good, rather than fear-inducing strategists. Many Congressional obstacles could be avoided, if our representatives were not indebted to lobbyists for special interests that are fearful of losing money and power. It is my belief that we must once again have representatives who we can trust; representatives accountable to the people, and only to the people. Claudia Wright
Denny Hoyer was at the convention campaigning for Matheson. But what good are Democrats who always vote with the Republicans? If I wanted to vote for a Republican I'd vote for a real one, not some wannabe. I care about how they vote not which letter they have after their name. The Democratic party machine and the big corporations are backing Matheson. Wright's campaign is fueled entirely by the grassroots. If you would like to help, . Donate Here
