The IDF has confirmed reports by Turkish media and other sources that its troops have stormed at least one of the ships participating in the aid flotilla which was to land in Gaza today in order to deliver supplies to residents of that territory; estimates of the number of dead currently range from 2 to two dozen as reported by various news outlets and the Israeli army itself. This incident comes less than a day after revelations that Israel has deployed subs equipped with tactical nukes to the Persian Gulf, putting their weapons in range of any target in Iran. In this new light, the deployment could reasonably be assumed to have been a precaution ahead of a likely incident with the long-publicized flotilla, one intended to prompt caution on the part of the Iranian government.
Over the next few days, we will see an extraordinary degree of poorly-composed propaganda by a number of U.S. pundits in support of what looks at this point to be a rather indefensible act. The worst of this nonsense will come from such dishonest single-issue pundits as The New Republic publisher Martin Peretz who, like Muhammed, was able to obtain for himself a degree of influence only by virtue of having married a rich woman and who, also like Muhammed, cannot write. It is always worth noting that Peretz was among the handful of Western observers to have claimed that Ahmadinejad's "reelection" was a genuine manifestation of overall Iranian sentiment rather than outright fraud, and that Peretz joined China and Russia in this overt assessment in an effort to convince himself and others that the majority of Iranians support that degenerate fellow's own fascist and anti-Semitic views, as of course Peretz and others who were perpetually wrong about Iraq would like another chance to be wrong.
I'll provide further updates as they become available in the foreign press, and will also be providing a summary of the most ridiculous and malevolent instances of mainstream U.S. commentary in support of military strikes on international humanitarian aid workers.
Also, a gentle reminder to the great number of American "hawks" who don't care about Arabs or who at any rate see them all as guilty until proven innocent - in this instance, the Israeli military most likely killed a number of those people of European ancestry for whom you are usually so concerned in the context of the Arab "invasion" of Europe. So, in this case, the Israelis have probably managed to kill "real people" this time. To be fair, that boat had medicine on it which would have potentially been used to save the lives of small children who could have themselves potentially grown up to be terrorists, so perhaps Israel is simply getting more sophisticated in the stylish pastime of preemptive war.
