Happy Wednesday pootie, woozle, birdie and general critter lovers, and welcome. This is a diary to relax, share pictures and stories about our animal friends, and to build community. Come on in and join us.
Have you thought about attending the Kossack Meet-Up at Starved Rock Lodge in central Illinois on June 26th? You should - but we need a headcount! Visit NormAl1792's diary for details or to be counted. See ya there.
Today it's 10-24-30. Those of you counting at home will notice that the count has shrunk - not just in how many days, but in number of things being counted. Since last week, we've completed the "trs meets the soon-to-be-mother-in-law" portion of our program. It was a bit of an adventure, but I got to see my honey, and my Mom and sister loved him. Not as much as I do, of course...
It had been almost four weeks, so it sure was good to see him again.
OK, I'm gonna get killed for that one, but back to our story...trs and I were traveling to Tennessee so he could meet my Mom, and he admits he was a little nervous. Mothers-in-law have such a reputation.
But honest, my Mom isn't like that. She's a sweetheart. Sometimes stereotypes are sooo deceptive.
As much as we enjoyed spending time together....
...on Monday it was time to head home, our last time saying goodbye before the big move. So we headed off to the airport, and caught a flight together to Detroit.
And that's where the trouble began. The weather was a little problematic...
...and the flight crews were not happy!
The result? Well, pretty much what you would expect.
And with no reschedule available for more than 24 hours, I had to quickly come up with a plan B. Which involved grabbing the last seat on an overcrowded flight to an airport an hour and a half from my original destination.
From there I grabbed a car and took off across the state, heading for the airport where my car was parked.
There I grabbed my own car and finally headed towards home.
You can imagine how I felt when finally...
It was lovely to be home, and last evening brought the crowning touch.
