I've vented my spleen -- many of you have vented yours.  Time to get this diary off the rec list and keep the BP Liveblog Mothership going.  Please rec the Mothership.  Thank you.

I may be one of the stupidest but not regarding the BP Oil Disaster.  This is one diary I don't mind being blasted into oblivion as long as there are no other victims other than myself.  HR the tip jar at will.

I have found that the only place to find consistently intelligent discourse is in the BP Liveblog/ROV diaries.  Stupid stuff is quickly flicked away.  Not so outside that space.  I have read more uninformed, ignorant, and conspiracy theories than I've seen here ever.

To wit:

  1. Obama is a corporatist shill.
  1.  Thad Allen is beholden to BP.
  1.  Thad Allen is a liar.
  1.  Carol Browner is a BP shill.
  1.  Carol Browner is a liar.
  1.  [Fill in the blank] should be fired because they are corporatist shills.
  1.  Nothing is going to happen to BP because the Administration is full of corporatist shills.
  1.  The Obama Administration has done nothing during this crisis.

I could continue, but that's just today's list.

If you write this shit -- you are stupid -- and a conspiracy theorist.  Not one of you backs anything up with actual facts -- just suggestions of "facts" that fit into your "theory."

Most of you have never read the National Contingency Plan or any one of the environmental statutes or regulations which have had exemptions for oil and gas for decades -- or, in the case of NEPA and Safe Drinking Water Act -- 5 years thanks to the odious Cheney.  And yet, you shoot from the hip, blather about firing, not voting, being betrayed as if everything is all about you and your need for instant gratification.

I am truly sick of the stupid here.  I'm not leaving -- and I'm too internationally beloved for you to kick me out for one diary calling you stupid.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
