This is a short diary....
Edward James Olmos has put together a short film interviewing a few gulf residents about the impact of the BP oilpocalypse, both on their current livelihood and their prospects for the future.
It has been well demonstrated that BP is currently in the business of minimizing the amount of information disseminating from the site of the oil spill. Like the recent $50 million ad campaign, which had as much to do with dangling a carrot in front of the media corporations enticing them to give more positive coverage about BP as it did with actual 'image improvement', BP has been putting a large number of now-unemployed fishermen on their payroll...to do nothing whatsoever.
They can then threaten to remove their financial support if anyone speaks ill of them or attempts to hold them responsible for their criminal activity. Most of the locals, therefore, are ill-inclined to speak out about BP for fear of loosing the only paycheck they have the opportunity of getting at the present time.
Please spread this video around....people have to know how much this affects the gulf coast residents and also of the potential for further danger by the upcoming hurricane season....
