I could just have easily said that President Obama was also the Most Hated. Or Vilified. Ridiculed. Mocked. Shit on.
Any of the above could just as easily suffice. When President Barack Hussein Obama was sworn into office nary less than a year and a half ago, ah the cries, the cheers, the heralding in of a "Post-racial" America. Indeed, many believed that when Obama became president - or, more aptly - when a Black man became president of this great, yet tortured (historically) nation - this had changed - that something profound had shifted in our psyche - that we had overcome the ugliness of our past. That the centuries of dehumanizing people of color, and doing so with impunity - were behind us. That we had turned the page on our ugly past.
Were we deluding ourselves? Or were we just hoping, hoping - that for once, America would live up to its greatness, and not just in theory, but in fact.
I make no apologies for believing in the best of humanity, and neither should you. Even though at times I can only shake my head at the nonstop, unrelenting ugliness that characterizes much of the msm coverage surrounding Obama, I still remain humbled by this man.
I remain humbled because I know that Barack Hussein Obama - while far from perfect - is not nearly as imperfect as his enemies and detractors would have you believe.
I remain humbled that he knows in his heart what he is trying to do - for all of us - even those that hate him.
I remain humbled because I know - even if the masses foolishly don't - that we need him more than he needs us.
Please folks, keep peace in your hearts, educate your fellow man, and organize to drown out the hate.
