Congressman Etheridge stood for what all Americans believe in: truth and the right of privacy – especially from any type of ambush and especially from make believe journalists. The truth is nobody knows who these Taliban are (Taliban is Pashto for students). For some reason, the Taliban who have released this tape have obscured the perpetrator’s faces.
Breitbart is now taking part of the credit. No surprises here. Breitbart was the backer of last summer’s Taliban fictional tale: the pimp and the hooker.
Congressman Etheridge should be praised for his handling of this hostile ambush. Some have suggested that the Congressman should have meekly gone away, mumbling no comments. He was supposed to act like a coward so that he could be held aloft as a man of love and principle. So rather than act with full discretion, he acted like a Navy Seal, an Army Ranger, a Green Beret, and he confronted this Taliban ambush and asked the fake journalist who he was.
Bravo Congressman!
The streets can be a place of danger. John Lennon paid with his life when stopped by what he thought was a fan and instead met his executioner. Street ambushes by roving packs of Taliban fanatics against a lone Congressman are despicable. In addition, do not let the supposed age of the Pseudo-Journalists fool you: armed young men, in disguise, have killed many of our trained soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Congressman Etheridge stood up for himself and in doing all America and demanded, in no uncertain terms: Who are you? This time there was no gun. Let us hope that the right wing fanatics get their students in line and teach them a few things about real journalism and manners when approaching a United States Congressman. If not a few more Taliban will surely be roughed up – and if anyone is fool hardy enough to even think about trumped up changes of assault or battery – let them. No judge or jury will convict. Not with the likes of these scum.
Bravo Congressman Etheridge.
