sausage grinder of snark   THE COLBERT NATION GULF OF AMERICA FUND: Donate what you can: because if you're not part of the solution, you're exactly like BP.

Jon's got Louis C.K., who was on several years ago. Turns out the "C.K." is because his actual last name is Szekely, which is pronounced (yes) C.K. Also, he's got a sitcom coming out on FX this summer. The stand-up comic with a couple kids will play... a stand-up comic with a couple kids. But the character is single. Naturally.

OK, so I love DEVO. One reason:

"Finally, Something For Everybody"

Fellow De-evolutionaries and Newfound Devotees –

This is the stuff that dreams are made of! The collective hard work of exposing modern De-evolution to the masses in an effort to find something that appeals to everybody, has paid off. The fruits of our musical and tele-visionary labor will finally be available for consumption this coming Tuesday, June 15th, year 2010.

Following the process of relentless research, we will reveal the world’s first focus group-tested sonic document. The musical group DEVO’s long-form corporate-approved opus, "Something for Everybody," will finally be available... It is 88%-guaranteed to meet with your audio approval. And if you want to hear what the public chose in the highly debated DEVO Song Study, you will also have the option to purchase the pure 100% focus-group approved version exclusively on iTunes.com. Your choice!

That same day, the web interface of DEVO, Inc., the site ClubDevo.com, will pull back a curtain, exposing our months-long journey in bringing you, the audience, what you desire. The resultant narrative video content, "Devo Makes Something for Everybody" was created in the (research indicates) optimal format for receiving information and entertainment: as Reality TV programming. While the entirety of the voyage will be accessible at a later time, on a network channel soon-to-be-exposed, shrewd contract-wording by the DEVO, Inc. legal department has authorized us to share the pilot episode footage with you; and in turn, permits you to share it with the almighty Internet....

...BONUS KNOWINGNESS: this week, the musical group DEVO will aggressively pursue as many new and potential audiences as possible by exposing itself to the beloved American talk show circuit.

Another reason:

That's the cat listening party. Best headline:

I Can Has Whipit?

The album's streaming at ColbertNation.com, if for some reason you don't want to watch the kitties. My own cats tolerated it -- which is better than average. They get a bit freaked out when I use the computer speakers instead of the stereo. Video games especially set those ears back.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?
