As soon as word began to spread of violence on the Mavi Marmara, there was a global rush to judgment.
Israel massacres peace activists (updated)
Turkey withdraws ambassador to Israel over deaths
In the same story, not even 24 hours after the raid, the Australian Network News reported
There are still conflicting accounts of exactly what happened when Israeli marines boarded a Gaza-bound aid ship in the Mediterranean.
...but the UNSC was holding a meeting to draft a response...
The UN Security Council has held an emergency meeting in response to Israel's deadly attack on an international aid convoy carrying supplies to Gaza.
Council members are now deciding on the wording of a statement about the incident.
...and Turkey had already decided what happened....
At the UN Security Council meeting in New York, Turkey's foreign minister Ahmet Davatoglu called the raid "murder conducted by a state".
The same day, the facts unclear, the rest of the world began pointing the finger at Israel...
International condemnation was swift and harsh as Israel scrambled to explain how what was meant to be a simple takeover of a civilian vessel went so badly awry.

Key regional ally Turkey withdrew its ambassador on Monday, the U.N. Security Council held an emergency session, the British foreign secretary demanded an end to the blockade of Gaza, and Jordan called Israel's raid a "heinous crime."
And everybody wonders why Israel won't cooperate with a UN investigation? The United Nations has already made that decision. It decided who was at fault as soon as the flotilla activists began tweeting about the violent confrontation taking place on the deck of the ship. Were it not for the intervention of the Obama administration, the UNSC would have condemned Israel before the IDF had even gotten the flotilla back to Israeli shore on the morning of the raid. As with all things in the Middle East conflict, Israel was guilty until proven guilty.
As we saw today at the UN, the blatant anti-Israel bias even extends to the press corps. The UN Correspondents Association (UNCA) is a professional organization of more than 200 of the journalists who cover the United Nations. Earlier this week, the president of the UNCA, Giampaolo Pioli, organized the screening of a "documentary" about the Israeli raid of the Mavi Marmara, a film created by activists involved with the flotilla. The invitation sent to members of the UNCA said the would be screening a film about the "Israeli attack on human rights activists."
The Israelis requested the opportunity to present their version of events, but the UNCA made it clear that only one point of view was welcome.
The spokeswoman for the Israeli delegation to the UN asked to take part in the event and present scenes from a film prepared by the Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson's Unit especially for the UN delegation.
At first, the president of the association agreed, but two hours before the start of the event he announced that he was canceling the screening of the Israeli film, offering to air the IDF film at a later date, and at a different location.
The organization which represents the press corp in the United Nations screens a film for its members, journalists who are supposed to unbiased, a film that pushes an anti-Israel agenda created by those so-called "human rights activists". How can the Israelis expect any kind of fair hearing at the United Nations when even the journalists who are covering it are open in their bias?
I realize that mine is a minority opinion here. I believe very much that the our special relationship with Israel is not only wise foreign policy, but wise moral policy. I respect that many of you disagree. I just ask you to consider this,
- The UN World Conference Against Racism has turned into a high profile anti-Semitic, anti-Israel hate rally.
- The UNSC is obviously biased against Israel. The US had to intervene to prevent an anti-Israel resolution from being passed before anybody had a chance to investigate anything!
- The UN press pool is obviously biased because they would not even allowed the Israeli delegation to the UN to defend Israel from anti-Israel, pro-flotilla propaganda.
Any UN investigation would be little more than a show trial, with the outcome long ago pre-determined. Why should Israel--or her closest ally, the United States--lend any credibility to such a spectacle?
