A real quickie here. The Associated Press is reporting abnormally high levels of radiation coming across the DMZ into South Korea from the North. A nuclear test does not seem to be the cause but the North is claiming a breakthrough in fusion technology, i.e. the means to possibly build a much more powerful hydrogen bomb.
Abnormally high radiation levels were detected near the border between the two Koreas days after North Korea claimed to have mastered a complex technology key to manufacturing a hydrogen bomb, Seoul said Monday.
This is a particularly worrying development with tensions on the Korean peninsula at a high point following the sinking of a South Korean Naval ship by a North Korean torpedo.
Sorry for the brevity.
