In following the General Stanley McChrystal fiasco, I can’t help but make the comparison to the movie, A Few Good Men. There is no Tom Cruise or Jack Nicholson. There is no court room scene or soldiers on trial. But there is a sequel like resemblance to some of the events to that of the original movie.
With President Obama coming down hard on insubordination, it is akin to the presiding judge in the movie sort of saying "I’m Commander-in-Chief and I believe I’ve earned it". You also have rogue General McChrystal whose diatribe to Rolling Stone Magazine sounds a bit like "You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth".
The ending is kind of the same as in the movie too with the career of an outstanding soldier crashing down in public shame because he felt the regular rules didn’t apply to him.
Do you see the similarities? I can’t help but wonder if in this version of the movie, would Demi Moore play Sarah Palin?
