A lot of people don't give Roxanne Conlin that much of a chance of winning in Iowa. They might be right. But we have a chance here to really give Chuck Grassley the electoral fight of his life. This is our chance to support a progressive candidate in Iowa.

Elaine Marshall is given a little bit more chance. But not by much more. Even though this seat has never stayed in the hands of one party for more the one election in 30 years. This is another prime pickup for a progressive candidate in North Carolina.

(Roxanne Conlin Part Posted From Yesterday)
Roxanne Conlin is a true blue Democrat and progressive. That seems to be hard to come by these days. Chuck Grassley has consistently polled near 50%. With enough support and money Conlin could pull him below 50%. Also his recent vote against Wall St. Reform could really hurt him in Iowa.

Conlin supports a woman's right to choose. She also is very strong on LGBT rights. Supporting Marriage Equality and the decision by her state supreme court to legalize gay marriage in Iowa. She also supports ENDA and repealing DADT. She's also in favor of strengthening Health Care Reform and does not support the 30,000 troop surge in Afghanistan. Go to her site and read all of her detailed answers on the issues.

Economy and Jobs

Women's Issues

LGBT Issues

Health Care

If the DNC, the DSCC, and the DCCC cannot or will not implement a 50 state strategy, we sure as hell can! We need all the progressives we can get in the senate.

Elaine Marshall has been Secretary of State for North Carolina since the mid 1990's. She has remained popular and has defeated every one of her challengers by wide margins. She has in the past tried to run in the primaries to become the Democratic Candidate for the Senate. But has always been pushed aside by the DSCC. It even happened this year. But she prevailed. Now she can take on Richard Burr, remains unknown and unpopular.

Marshall supports a woman's right to choose. She also has strong stances on LGBT rights, that were strengthened by the primaries when Pam Spaulding became involved. She also wants to further work on strengthening Health Care Reform. She also disagrees with the 30,000 troop surge in Afghanistan. If you want to find out more go to her site and find out more.

Social Security

Economic Recovery

Health Insurance Reform

Wall Street Reform

On Public Education

Energy and Environment

Our War In Afghanistan

National Security

Civil Rights

This is another great opportunity to elect a progressive to the senate.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
