An angry ex-felon engaged California Highway Patrol officers on a major Bay Area freeway on Sunday. The shooter was wearing a bullet resistant vest and was hit numerous times but is recovering in the hospital. No CHP officers were wounded.
The SF Chronicle is reporting on their SF Gate website that I-580 shootout suspect mad at left-wing politics. The article does not make clear the shooter's intended victims. I think we are fortunate he was stopped before implementing whatever deranged plan he had in mind. He was speeding and driving dangerously on the freeway and was pulled over by the CHP. Photos from the article show show five rifles/shotgunsconfiscated from the vehicle and they were suspicious of bombs as well.
Quoting from the article:"She said her son, who had been a carpenter and cabinetmaker before his imprisonment, was angry about his unemployment and about "what is happening to our country."
Williams watched the news on television and was upset by "the way Congress was railroading through all these left-wing agenda items,"
The shooter got the guns from her safe so they were all legal weapons. She feels that we are going to be:"caught up in a revolution." But she said she had told her son many times that "he didn't have to be on the front lines." That was mentioned as the reason she kept the guns.
Note: I am quoting from the article but getting errors when using blockquotes, don't have time to debug.
Seeing all the Sarah Palin diaries this morning makes me wonder why these low information people are not more angry about the kinds of erosion of our freedoms as mentioned in Jesselyn Radack's diary and the take over of the press during the BP disaster than they are of the attempts by this administration to help the working people of this country? Why do they pick up guns for their "solution" and we go to the ballot box?
