This has Karl Rove's fingerprints all over it.
During the weekend, I was intrigued at the Meet The Press. Usually, I sleep in, since we all know that most cable news shows of the day are nothing but beltway fluff produced as actual political thought about what is happening in our nation. However I was frankly astonished by this from many of the Republicans.
and this
and mostly this as well.
I was going through. At first, I thought Democrats deciding on running against the legacy of George W. Bush was profoundly stupid. It was....until Republicans seem to be running as proponents of that legacy.
I remember Nancy Pelosi giving this speech under George W. Bush
and this happening right after.
I remember November 2008, when Mac and the Barracuda was whomped by Rac and Joe.
Inauguration Day 2009-Something that I'm not proud that many did, but understand why it happened when over a million people boo you coming down the Capitol steps.
Ya get the general impression that this isn't Ronald Reagan leaving the Presidency.
When in the current ratings, the ex president of the United States is in the bottom 5 of the Presidential rankings..
Now,its apparent, that they have called Karl Rove back in to help Republicans. At least thats what I think. Who is the guy that attacks a candidates strengths relentlessly while ignoring the weaknesses?
Who is someone who would take any wrong, bullheaded position on something and push it forward as something that should be heralded?
We know that the 2012 contingent doesn't look very good against President Obama. I mean, really, Palin, Santorum, Huckabee, Romney, Gingrich, Barbour, possibly Paul. They will tear each other limb from limb in the Republican primary. Its gonna be fun, I'm planning on ordering 20 steel drums worth of caramel popcorn so I can watch the coverage. Right now though, everyone seems to be writing off that Jeb Bush would ever be nominated for the Presidency. We must remember though, he declined to run for the Senate in 2010. He was elected twice to the Governorship in Florida, he is still popular there. He is going around on speaking circuits for candidates, including Rand Paul. It may seem far fetched and maybe to surreal for many people. However, with all of this nostalgia for the Bush years by Republicans and their eagerness to embrace the legacy on one of the country's most unpopular Presidents post White House, one has to wonder whether all of this is an attempt to restore the Bush name for other candidates.
Something to think about.
