What is the Democratic Party doing to help our candidate for US Senator for Pennsylvania against the onslaught of William Kristol, Neocon, who helped lie us into war in Iraq and has been propagandizing us to go to war against Iran with this article in his Weekly Standard, And Now Iran: We can't rule out the use of military force?
Look at this ugly ad William Kristol's group is airing, but refuses to divulge who is funding it.
If this ad turns your stomach, you can get relief by making a contribution to Joe's campaign here: Contribute now to Sestak For Senate
Emergency Committee Based at Old Committee for the Liberation of Iraq, July 19, 2010, by Eli Clifton discovered that William Kristol's group, the Emergency Committee for Israel, is squared away in the former office of Coalition for the Liberation of Iraq, which propagandized the US into the Iraq quagmire.
It's the office of Randy Scheunemann's firm, Orion Strategies. Randy Scheunemann was hired by "I can see Russia" Sarah Palin to brief her on foreign policy. Isn't this Sarah Palin Tea Party crew alone a reason to help Joe Sestak? Randy Scheunemann was also a member of Project for a New American Century (PNAC), which was co-founded by none other than William Kristol.
In other words, this Sestak campaign is a fight against the GOP lobbyists who are think tanking this country into bankruptcy with their non-stop warmongering. They have a very good track record of success, so we need to get going and fight back ASAP.
Eli Clifton points out the irony of a group calling itself the "Emergency Committee for Israel" having been an integral reason America went to war with Iraq, which hasn't augured well for Israel at all.
Of course, the invasion of Iraq, so ardently championed by the CLI, ultimately resulted in a serious deterioration in U.S. influence throughout the Middle East to the benefit of both Syria and Iran, not to mention Hezbollah and Hamas, and, conversely, to the detriment of Israel’s security. That some of the same geostrategic geniuses are now behind the creation of the Emergency Committee for Israel should give pause to anyone who actually cares about that nation’s future.
We are witnessing how the military industrial complex GOP lobbyists attack candidates who they fear won't obey them, but will serve the American people. This ad reminds me of how these creeps smeared Barack Obama in Pennsylvania when I campaigned for him for President. They spread rumors that he put his hand on the Koran when he was sworn in as Senator and that he was a secret Muslim, who as soon as he became President would switch back. They claimed that Obama refused to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. I heard so many brainwashed Pennsylvanians repeat these lies! But, we patiently told them the truth, and Obama swept Pennsylvania, and I hope Sestak does, too.
This ad states that Sestak contributed to an organization that is a front group for Hamas, CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Here is the defense of Joe Sestak from a letter to COMCAST, asking them to stop airing the deceptive ad:
Congressman Sestak did not "raise money for an anti-Israel organization the FBI called a 'front group for Hamas.'" In fact, Congressman Sestak criticized members of the organization in question for failing to sufficiently speak out against terrorism and specifically Hamas and Hezbollah. Further, at the time he spoke to the group, it had not been called a "front group for Hamas" by anyone at the FBI, and no charges had ever been brought against it for any alleged connections to terrorism. Congressman Sestak spoke during a portion of the event that was specifically not for fundraising.
To characterize this as having "raised money" is highly misleading, and is
tantamount to suggesting that he raised money for Hamas. This suggestion is highly offensive. By any reasonable standard, this portion of the ad is misleading, even leaving aside the fact that the "front group for Hamas" phrase came from a single FBI Special Agent testifying a single time two years ago, and not from "the FBI" as an organization, as the ad declares.
[snip]
Congressman Sestak's record on Israel is clear. He has quite literally stood with Israel on many occasions, willing to put his life on the line to do so. Joe Sestak is a man who gave 31 years of his life serving our country in uniform, including time as Director of the Navy's anti-terrorism unit and participation in many joint operations with the
Israeli military. To imply – as this ad so clearly does – that he is supportive of terrorism goes beyond the realm of legitimate "political debate" and into the realm of character defamation.
And do you know what the "bipartisan letter affirming US support for Israel" was that Sestak refused to sign? It was a letter condemning Obama's stance on building settlements in East Jerusalem: 337 House members sign letter criticizing Obama’s Israel policy. Congressman Sestak stood with President Obama, but this nasty attack ad dishonestly spins Sestak's refusal to sign a letter critical of Obama's policy about settlements as a vote against supporting Israel.
COMCAST has a lot to answer for, airing an ad like this. I will never do business with COMCAST if I can help it, not only because of this smear against Joe Sestak, but they fired Barry Nolan for criticizing Bill O'Reilly receiving the Governor's Award at the Emmys [Barry Nolan: The Story Behind My O’Reilly Protest]. I love Barry Nolan, who used to be on a local Boston program, Evening Magazine, and he's as sweet as O'Reilly is a sour meany pants.
We should all boycott COMCAST.
Is it any wonder our freedom of the press has been diminished when the press is monopolized by the likes of COMCAST and Rupert Murdoch? Is it any wonder we are mired in endless, costly war when a decent politician, who served his country in the Navy for 31 years like Joe Sestak, who rose to the rank of 3 star Vice Admiral, can be smeared with lies about his patriotism by the very people who lied us into a war with Iraq and now want to plunge us into a war with Iran based on more lies?
We've had enough of William Kristol misleading our country into fighting endless Neocon wars of his making, with his "front organizations" that should be called Conspiracy Theories about Iraq, Paranoic Propaganda about Iran, Sending Other People's Children to Fight and Die for My Lie, and Project for a Bankrupt America.
