Watching Brietbart's self-inflicted Liargate unfold: http://www.dailykos.com/... , I think it's important to keep this one proven fact front and center: Andrew Breitbart is a liar. His website, biggovernment.com, is a delivery vehicle for lies. His misguided minions who engage in their own version of what they like to term "journalism" are practicing the not so subtle art of lying.
And those lies have brought down a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping poor people and a woman who saved a family's farm, and who was able to overcome her own issues on race in the process.
Should the Dept of Agriculture rescind the firing of this employee and restate her to her position? O heck yeah. Should the President come out and make a statement on race? It seems to be his role in history so to do.
But let's make one thing clear: Andrew Breitbart is a dangerous liar, and his lies hurt good people.
Any journalist, any news organization, any broadcaster, any blogger and just plain any person out there who cites anything from his website is aiding and abetting a liar with an agenda and a serious - I mean serious - problem when it comes to matters of race.
If you missed Eugene Robinson on Hardball tonight, you should definitely spend a few minutes to view the clip: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...
He was short, sweet and to the point: this entire episode began with the big lie, and that lie was told by Andrew Breitbart.
Don't let anyone forget that.
