I know that this will get some of the typical "who gives a shit about what you think or say" comments but I'm used to that and frankly, that says more about the commentators than it does about me.
Last weekend at Netroots Nation, I had a way way better time than I thought I would - given that I've been to all 5, presented at 4 of them and know more people that attend than I don't know. And it was very refreshing to see that many old friends - including at least five current front page contributing editors here - said that they missed my writing, voice, and those of passionate activists like myself.
I promised that I would write more here and spend more time here, because it really really meant a lot to hear the words of encouragement after being attacked in pretty much every diary and comment thread for the past year or so.
So when I logged on to see one of the Democratic Party's most passionate progressive voices - one who time and time again has stood up to the Republican Party shenanigans (including my Rep Garrett citing a fake health care memo on the House floor, calling out the "Republic Party" in response to the nonsensical "Democrat Party", or speech after speech on the House floor defending liberal and progressive values) - I was pretty psyched. Even more so because he is from my home state of NY.
And then I logged on a bit later and saw a different title in the diary and 900+ comments - many of which were blasting the diarist for a middle of the night post that didn't have enough substance for diary police or for daring to use a phrase that made some of the thinnest skinned cheerleaders get personal and nasty about daring to undermine President Obama's office?
Are y'all fucking serious?
This community can't even celebrate not one but two smackdowns of Republicans - even one on FauxNooze without throwing shit at each other?
Really?
