Advice needed! I'm the director of Hannah's Horseshoes of Hope a non-profit equine-assisted, therapeutic riding center located in North Central Texas, north of Dallas. We serve children and adults with cognitive disabilities, physical or emotional needs, including at-risk children and returning veterans. www.hannahshorseshoesofhope.org.
We are starting fundraising to build a covered arena so that the weather doesn't impact our ability to serve our students quite as much. Right now it's HOT and then we have rain, snow and all that stuff down the road. All of which makes it hard to stick to our regular riding schedule.
What I'd like to do is find a source for funding that could help us build a truly 'green' arena and attached stables and administrative center. I'm getting better at writing grants - a long way from good yet - but haven't been able to find any foundation or other source that is specifically geared to funding projects that want to be 'green.'
Thank you for any direction you can give! Appreciate it.
