This will be but a brief Diary – mostly in pictures – as I hadn’t seen anything posted yet marking today’s anniversary of Richard Milhous Nixon’s resignation in 1974.

~ The highlight giving me hope during our long nightmare that our nation would endure were the words spoken by the late Rep. Barbara Jordan during the Watergate hearings ~ |

And perhaps her most memorable words:

~ Resulting in the very rare full banner headline in "The New York Times" ~ |

~ And culminated with Nixon’s helicopter departure ~ |

... Rep. Jordan's words bear repeating:
~ My faith in the Constitution is whole, it is complete, it is total. I am not going to sit here and be an idle spectator to the diminution, the subversion, the destruction of the Constitution. ~ |
