We're hearing US Judge Vaughn Walker will issue his decision on a stay in #Prop8 case tomorrow morning. Full coverage on KQED.
As I diaried Monday, this means you should consider going and getting in line or trying to get an appointment TOMORROW MORNING if you want to get married. (Assuming he lifts the stay.) It could be a matter of just hours or less until either the Ninth Circuit, Circuit Justice Kennedy, or the Supreme Court issues another stay.
As sickening as it is to have to give this advice, I wouldn't want someone who really wants to be married to be the last person in line when a new stay comes down. I'm sorry this is the state of affairs.
This isn't formal legal advice—I have no idea what any judge involved here will do. I don't see how Walker can keep the stay in place given his findings, but I can't say about the wise men above him.
Also, if you are a California lawyer, consider going as an observer to clerks' offices. I plan to be at the San Luis Obispo clerk-recorder some time tomorrow morning to see if there's anything going on.
If anyone has any links to any kind of organizing for that, please post it in the comments.
