Senator Bill Brady (R) of Illinois is running for governor, and unfortunately is leading in the polls by 9 points or more.

Senator Brady is a complete threat to the women of the state. Whether it's opposing abortion in cases of rape and incest, equal pay laws for men and women, or voting against insurance coverage of mammograms and strengthening our domestic violence laws, Senator Brady's ideas about women are straight out of 1910.

Brady expressed that once/if he takes office, he will work to constitutionally ban not only same-sex marriage, but also any form of partnership recognition for gays, including inheritance. He is so anti-gay that the day after winning the Illinois’ primary, he wrote legislation that would make it legal again in the state to discriminate against gays in employment and housing if you’re morally opposed.

This is just SOME of what Bill Brady has done... it doesn’t stop there. From opposing a ban on assault weapons, IDs for gun owners and requirements that guns be stored safely, to expressing opposition to the family leave act for pregnant women and claiming that equal pay for women is simply part of government "intrusion that is not productive", Senator Brady CANNOT win these upcoming elections.

Please watch the video below to see more of what Bill Brady has done. Make sure to share this information and video with your friends and family of Illinois. Brady is too radical for Utah or Texas, let alone Illinois.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
