Earlier today Congressman Grijalva took serial liar Glenn Beck out behind the woodshed.

Beck's response is quite typical – dig up a four year old tape of someone else, spin it Andrew Breitbart style, and try to make something out of it.

@StopBeck has held Beck to NO U.K. Advertising for six months and he's all but done the same in the U.S., leaving him with only Goldline and some other scams he runs on his credulous, cretinous viewers.

Are you tired of Rupert Murdoch's influence on our government? Yes? Then let's put an end to Beck's career and protect the best of the best in the U.S. Congress.

Pretty much says it all, does it? You are a disease, you Progressives, a cancer on our great nation. And that makes the House Progressive Caucus the stem cells. As the head of the caucus Congressman Grijalva is stem cell number one.

Do you want to know what Beck did? OK, briefly, because I hate to give this any more traction. He dug up a slice of something Dolores Huerta said four years ago, something that Congressman Grijalva disagreed with, and then played around with the video and reporting to make it look like the Congressman's staff had been involved. It's a straight up smear job. You can look at this piece of shit right here.

Mad enough to do something? Here are some options:

Go follow @StopBeck on Twitter. Then watch what he says – he needs people to repeat the message, to write blog posts, and help with our own media buzz to counter this indecent little troll who has a national venue thanks to Rupert Murdoch.

Go visit the StopBeck web site. This thing costs a couple of hundred dollars a month as I recall – I know times are hard, but this is THE most effect means we have of getting at Beck and Murdoch. The donate button is over at the right.

Grijalva, Grayson, Wiener and a few other Progressive Caucus members get all the glory here, but there are over eighty hard working men and women in that group. I would like you to convey that we'll stand behind them if they stand up to Beck's hatred and provocation; here is the ActBlue page for the House Progressive Caucus, but I want you to give just $1.07 to as many of them as you can afford to cover. We'll let them know tomorrow that the contributions in that amount are specifically us telling them we want more of what Congressman Grijalva laid on Beck today.

No money? Well, you've still got no excuse ...

A blog post on DailyKos is a powerful thing, even if it only gets a few dozen comments and makes neither the rec list nor diary rescue. DailyKos is a giant, ancient blog, and it can push Google page rankings all over the place. We're getting more information that we can dispense with the elections getting so close – if you'd like to help out Ministry of Truth can be found on Twitter under his real name, @JesseLaGreca and he seems to be in charge of the diary hit squad.

We've got economic ethnic cleansing of Hispanics in AZ-05, a dog fighting advocate in NJ-05 (no link yet), an oil industry toad in TX-06,  and @Spedwybabs can fill you in on a lot more of this stuff. As you can see in AZ-05, we'll turn out for moderate Democrats who do a good job for their district - this isn't just about the Progressive Caucus - we need to hand Speaker Pelosi 220+ seats in sixty days and we can do that if we focus.

The GOP is intellectually, morally, and financially bankrupt. It's a rotted husk that remains upright only because our utterly corrupt mainstream media continues to give it mouth to mouth. If we take out Beck that's the camel's nose under the tent – we can reform the media, just as we're reforming all other aspects of this country, but it has to come from you and me.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
