Now that Wall Street, the Banks, BP, and the S&P (Credit Rating Agency) are all in the process of what I would call (Ohnozzzzze) the final Corporate takeover of our nation, by turning on President Obama, faster than you can say, 'drop a dime on your neighbor for selling some grass out of their house, just to make ends meet,' at least an old time, loyal Democrat gets it, Bob Shrum.
Like the rest of you, I'm going to hold my nose, and do everything I can to make absolutely certain that the 'insane Republicans' (and they are insane) do not get back in, by voting every single Democrat I can when the time comes, because, I know what is coming, if we allow them to 'get back in' and that is the final and absolute takeover of our nation by the Corporations. Make no mistake about that.
My question, on this, is has President Obama gotten 'the big message' now, that Bob Shrum is sounding the loudest bass drum I ever heard in my life on: President Obama, it's either 'Us' or the Corporations, and 'now is the time for all good men/women, to come to the aid of their party.'
Let's face it, Obama got handed the biggest 'Shit Sandwich' in the history of our nation, and I know he has accomplished a great deal in the past two years, because, historically it takes that long, just to replace the staff you need (which of course the Republicans have managed to hold up, every friggin chance they can) but now that we absolutely know without a doubt, that 'Corporate America' are not only turning their back on President Obama, and our party, what is to keep President Obama, from this point on from 'getting down and dirty' and going for the full 'Monty' so to speak?
It is not like BP is not now 'blackmailing' our nation, for the $20 billion that will never be enough to pay for those that will end up having cancer from eating the seafood, or the ruination of the entire gulf region, that is being covered up, in their latest 'if you don't let us drill offshore crap-ola-story' you won't get the money.
It is not like, all Americans have paid and keep paying for the Economic Pearl Harbor, the Great Heist of 2008, that drove our nation into the ditch, that............oh right, nobody saw it coming, more on this from the most awesome film ever produced that was a huge, huge raving success at the Cannes Film festival this past winter:
BTW, on Utube this film trailer has been removed. Why is that?
More on Bob Shrum, and why he gets it:
Seldom has a political party been offered so clear an opening at such a perilous hour. An Early Bird uprising would be politically smart, allowing Dems to seize the offensive. What’s more, as Tip O’Neill said, rescuing Social Security is not just about politics. It’s about decency.
As Mr. Shrum indicates: It is about decency, but more than that, it about President Obama finally 'getting' that this is the moment, that he promised all Americans, 'was our moment and our time.'
What part of Corporate American turning on President Obama, doesn't he get, or is that just another 'false notion' that we don't get? Are both parties working for the same things? I'm honestly no longer certain of that. Are you?
Excuse me if I seem to be confused, but right now, what we need most is perhaps the most 'bold' leadership of all, and where is it?
Here we are, less than a few month away from a complete 'Katrina Hurricane' of an election, whereby the insane 'Republicans' will be coming at us in a category six storm, and what will we face, as a party if they all come into our government again?
The final takeover of our entire nation, by the same Corporations that are turning on President Obama, who consistently, and perhaps even in a naive way, worked with them, and now, what will be the outcome of that?
President Obama, get rid of the 'Cat Food Commission' now, and stop sucking up to those that are throwing you to the 'Sharks' that makes the movie 'Jaws' look like a Disneyland Happy Day for, the very people that put you into office, and may well, keep you there, or not.
I suppose, this is completely up to President Obama, because you know what? Amazing enough, I still believe in him, and I know many of us do here, but he had got to 'get the fucking message' or else, what can we leave to believe?
There are no differences between the parties anymore?
Because Democrats have been disarmed by the president’s deficit reduction commission, which plainly intends to propose Social Security cuts. Rather than allow such cuts to be greased through the lame duck session of a decimated Democratic Congress, or passed under cover of "bipartisanship" in a decidedly more Republican one next year, shouldn’t the case be stated and debated before the election? (Right now, Social Security is treated as the issue that dare not speak its name.) There is also the question of Democratic identity: What does the party stand for if not Social Security? And then there is the question of Democratic stupidity: Qualified and muted comments by Democrats in effect suggesting that Democrats won’t endanger Social Security as much as the other guys will can only further pave the road to defeat.
The president’s deficit reduction commission was a response to a series of popular myths—that the federal deficit is a root cause of our economic distress and that Social Security is a root cause of the deficit. Over time—once the economy is strong again—the deficit must be brought down, as Bill Clinton achieved with his tax and budget packages in the 1990s. However, it’s more than doubtful that the commission, replete with taxophobic Republicans, can agree on anything like that.
So the deficit commission has targeted Social Security, which has nothing to do with the deficit. The program has a $2.5 trillion surplus right now, rising to $4.3 trillion by 2023. Paul Krugman has calculated that the increased costs of Social Security over the next two decades are "significantly smaller... than the rise in defense spending since 2001."

The truth, is that the 'Cat Food Commission' is just another 'backdoor' for continuing not only the Bush Tax Cuts, but other ways to fund the new, next endless war, whereby most of our Armed Forces (who Alan Simpson has called a drain on our economy because they dare to ask for disability for brain injuries, other injuries, or PTSD, not to mention that 310 million 'tits' 'we' are all sucking (except for the Senators, and House members, and of course, the employees of the Federal Government...they don't matter of course, they earned the 'best health insurance in the entire world)....
There seems to be little 'in between' ground for me anymore. I keep wondering how anyone can believe in our two party system, when reading what is now happening in Iraq, as we 'cough cough' move out of there..
In a prime-time television address Tuesday night, President Obama will speak about U.S. troop reduction and the end of combat operations in Iraq. About 50,000 American soldiers are expected to remain in Iraq until the end of next year. But as the troops move out, the oil companies are moving in. According to a July report from the U.S. government’s Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, oil production in Iraq is currently about 2.4 million barrels per day. The goal, by 2017 is to produce 12 million barrels per day. That’s quite a leap, especially since average production levels have held steady for more than two years. It’s going to a take a lot of investment to expand production by 10 million barrels per day.
There’s a pile of oil money pouring into Iraq right now. Since last year, the Iraqi government has awarded 11 development deals to various consortia. BP and China National Petroleum Corp. are developing the enormous Rumaila field, which has a total proven reserves of about 18 billion barrels. Other companies winning awards include Royal Dutch Shell (working with ExxonMobil on one project and Malaysia’s Petronas on another), France’s Total SpA, Angola’s Sonangol, Italy’s Eni SpA, Russia’s Lukoil and China National Offshore Oil Corp. The signature bonuses to be paid by the consortia are anywhere from $100 million to $500 million.
More investment is on the way. Iraq’s oil ministry is planning to build four new refineries that will nearly double the country’s refining capacity. Oil services firms like Weatherford International and Schlumberger are expanding their operations in the country. Earlier this month Halliburton won a deal to drill 15 wells in the Basra province in southern Iraq, though the financial terms have not been disclosed. If development goes as planned, rebuilding Iraq’s oil sector could be a highly profitable investment for these companies over the long-term. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Iraq has the third largest proven oil reserves in the world (after Saudia Arabia and Canada). In 2008, oil exports accounted for nearly 90% of the country’s revenues.

As I read this article, and all the other articles, on the net this past week, I kept thinking the same thing over and over again: How many people died in Iraq, and Afganistan to date?
Not just our own Armed Forces, but the citizens of these nations, and why are those figures never give out at the exact same time on the MSM news?
I know what those figures are, do you? If you do, please comment about them, but realize this:
This is about the Corporate take over of our nation, and the new 'third world' place we find ourselves in.
President Obama has one last opportunity, now that all the Banks, Wall Street, Oil Companies and even the Credit Rating Agencies are turning on him, to give all their money to the Republicans, and that choice is up to him.
He will either turn out to be the greatest President in American history, or he will turn out to be what we all feared most:
The final takeover of our entire nation, a once great an amazing country, that had 'decent' leaders who cared more about the suffering people at the hands of the Robber Barons, than the ones who were blackmailing everyone in all three branches of our country, and getting away with it.
It is called courage. It is call decency, and it is call being a great leader.
I call on President Obama now to do the right thing.
Don't you?
