"All My Relations"
The last day of August was the day! A drawing was done for the star quilt, a "friendship quilt" with 200 signatures from Netroots Nation in Austin, TX – plus four. Sorry for the late announcement -- but it took a little while to connect with the winner! And I needed to do that because I did not know her nom de blog...
Donations of $10 or more (one donation per day) to this Act Blue page for INDN’s List received a chance in the drawing. So did the writing of a 50 word or less essay on "INDN's List's Mission -- Why it Benefits Everybody" – one essay per person per day.
I listed all the donations/per person/day (there were 329 of them) plus the one essay we received and assigned a ticket number to each.
A young neighbor kindly drew the winning ticket.
And here it is! The ticket corresponds to a donation given by Simple on August 6. Simple is the winner! We’ll be shipping the quilt to her Monday.
Thank you to navajo, all the members of Native American Netroots and Firefly Dreaming who helped with diaries, and to loggersbrat for collecting the signatures on the quilt patches in Austin. Thanks also to Ojibwa for a Native American blessing on this quilt – that meant a lot to me.
Thanks also to everyone who signed the quilt and supported the project – this quilt is a representation of community and you all make it radiate!
I believe INDN’s List will be preparing posters of the quilt for sale – and maybe some other items, as well. You can support this great organization by purchasing a poster --- and have the image of the quilt for yourself.
Namaste
