LaurenMonica's diary which is on the rec list reminded me of an article I didn't read about Newt. But first, for those of you who may not know, Newt was not born Newt Gingrich.
http://en.wikipedia.org/...
Newt Gingrich was born Newton Leroy McPherson, on June 17, 1943, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to nineteen-year-old Newton Searles McPherson and sixteen-year-old Kathleen Daugherty, who were married in September 1942.[3][4] His mother raised him by herself until she married Robert Gingrich, who then adopted Newt
Okay, Newton McPherson...this rang a bell about the article I didn't read.
You see, the McPherson clan was a tough bunch. If you don't believe me, follow this Link to Wiki where you will learn about Newt's Clan, the McPhersons.
I bring to you the Motto of Newt's clan...
Motto: Touch not the catt bot a glove. 'Bot' means without. The 'glove' of a wildcat is the pad. If the cat is 'ungloved', its claws are unsheathed. The motto serves as a warning that one should beware when the wildcat's claws are 'without a glove'. It is a reference to the historically violent nature of the clan and serves as a metaphorical warning to other clans that they should think twice before interfering with Macpherson business.
So, it is with this knowledge that I have come to the conclusion quoted below. There is no link, because it's origins are from that article I didn't read. Let the tongue in cheek begin.
What if Newt is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand McPherson Clan, war mongering behaviour, can you begin to piece together his actions. That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behaviour.. He is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, which is how he became a Speaker of The House. I think he worked very hard at being a person who is normal, reasonable, moderate, bipartisan, transparent, accommodating , none of which was true. (...)
In the Alinksy tradition, he was being the person he needed to be in order to achieve the position he needed to achieve . . . He was authentically dishonest, and one to fear.
If this rings a bell, it should. It's Newt's tangled words forming a "web of wediculousness."
Now, I must apologize to any of you who may be from the McPherson clan.
Atrios linked to the article below and it seemed important to share it, so blame him.

I care about this, not because Gingrich is a lunatic, but because Republicans and the media establishment continue to treat Gingrich as a sane, credible visionary. I think it's fair to say most reasonable people would charitably describe his attacks on America's leaders as idiocy, but the problem is, it won't make any difference.
Given the way the political establishment is "wired" for Republicans, there simply aren't any consequences for this kind of abject stupidity. In the first year of the Obama administration, the most frequent guest on "Meet the Press" was Newt Gingrich. Despite having left office more than a decade ago in disgrace, he remains a leading figure welcome in polite society. There's literally nothing the man can say to lose his platform to spew nonsense.
We'll see if this is a one day story or if the media makes a big deal out of it. If they do, I propose a mass tweet-a-thon, mass e-mail-a-thon to all media outlets. What can we do that will make enough noise to get them to not serve up garbage? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
WE MUST NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS BALONEY.
