This is a deeply flawed idea and diary. And the model I have in mind for an answer to the rabid anti-Muslim hatred circulating today took place years ago, so my memory is fuzzy. I'd welcome accurate specifics, if anyone has them.
Some years ago, a community in the U.S. was beset with a rash of anti-Semitic slurs and vandalism. The community responded by displaying menorahs and Star of David decals in their front windows.
I know it would be risky in today's climate. But what do Kossacks think of distributing decals of the crescent and star (I don't know the exact title of the symbol for Islam), and displaying them in our windows?
The huge problem, I realize, is that the hate-Muslims crowd reacts with violence against those who cross them. We'd risk vandalism and physical violence.
But if the majority (I hope it's the majority) of Americans who abhor the Quran burning hate crowd give a unified show of disgust for the hate, it would send a powerful message.
It would also be a potent tool for robbing the Al Qaeda types of the world of their power.
How do people feel about this?
