No one on this site could be more disappointed than me in
the lack of progress we as democrats have made since we
have had the house, senate and the WH.  Yes I am disappointed in the bending over backwards for the minority but the strategy of the GOP was just do nothing and we can make them lose.
Do you really think not getting involved in the election
will teach anyone anything?
Do you really want someone who thinks they can see Russia
from their house pulling strings?
Do you really want Lonesome Rhodes Beck saying "We showed the spineless democrats they were unable to lead?
No.  Deep down you do not want to fall further down the rabbit hole Alice.

Get your butt in gear and try to keep the majority.
Have you forgotten how the minority dems were locked out of the capitol meetings from the republicans?  Have you forgotten how they turned this country upside down and this was the half way sensible bunch, not the tea party fringe.  I am tired of the whining and bitching and folks saying they are staying home when a country worst than we have that could not have possibly been cleaned up from the last 8 years in just 18 months from any human being on earth.
No. Pelosi and Obama did not strike when the iron was hot.
Maybe there are things we don't know.  Maybe there are puppetmasters with threats or maybe not but I am sure of one thing, staying home and letting racists, inbred, hateful, stupid stupid people take  over our country is not the answer.  Wall to Wall Fox day in and day out.
You think things are bad now?  Just wait !!!!  You ain't seen nothing yet.
If we do not try and make this country better from keeping people like  wishy washy Lieberman and  Tan the Man Boner from gaining power then we deserve what we get.
I want this to make you mad.  I want this to shake up your braincells because at least the opposition can hang together without whining and complaining about the change
was too small.  This was one hell of a big boat to turn around.  It wasn't the SS Minnow.  It was the freaking Titanic and if we let the opposition win com November then the black man gets blames.  How many years do you think it will take for another minority to gain power?

If we go down, it will not be Obama's fault.  It won't be Palin's fault, It won't be Rush's fault.  It will be our fault.  I am as guilty as the next for my little bitch session but no more.  I don't want the kind of change that brought us The Grapes of Wrath.  I don't want the kind of change that sends the Military Industrial Complex into  a new dimension.  I don't want to have to look further than the Twlight Zone to call home.
Go ahead, cut off your nose to spite your face and see if you can stand to look in the mirror,  As far as me, I plan on taking my quest just as serious if not more  in 08 so in keeping the dems in some sort of power.  We will not have a country left if we don't look at things in this light.
Flame away.  It will be all our water with more arsenic, bigger corporation power, less income, more  tax breaks for the wealthy, less education, more war and less sense and maybe another attack from Quoran burning fanatics.  Go ahead and stick to your principles.  They may be all you can cling to for a little while, before you cry your eyes  out.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

have no idea who I am and what I've done.

And if you want to try and bully people to do whatever you want it is you want them to do, you're certainly free to do that.  And I'm certainly free to dismiss you as such.

Just an FYI:  I don't write letters to elected officials.  It takes too long to get through security, so I use more effective means.

I'm not going to fight or spar with you.  Nor do I feel the need nor am I going to justify myself to you.
You're in no position to blame anyone but the elected Democratic officials or yourself.  I say that because you have absolutely no idea what anyone else has done, other than the people who have personally told you what they've done.  That number doesn't equal a million or two or three million or more.

Get your butt in gear and try to keep the majority.

It's a serious question.  Rhetorical for sure but quite serious.

If you are anywhere near as angry as I am at myself for being duped by Obama, it would not be possible to write that.

I will have to decide whether to vote for a Blue Dog in my district who was the first one elected in the district since the Upstate New York "Truman Landslide."  That intelligent fellow made his maiden speech to the House a farewell.  He knew why he was elected and his future prospects.

So what's the point of deciding which oligarchs loot and destroy the country, The Constitution, perhaps human life on the planet?

Sure there are some great Democrats, an Alan Grayson, a Raul Grijalva, many others, but not one is on my ballot.

I will vote for gun moll Kirsten Gillibrand because she stood up for ACORN when few others would.  I may vote for others but they will have to give me one good reason.

May I suggest, Vetwife, that you.need.to.give.liberals.a.reason to vote for a candidate.  Platitudes won't do nor will the scary lunatics who may be less dangerous than the frauds we have elected as Democrats.

out of our houses.  They are not the republicans of old.  They are pure evil.
We have evil dems too but we can eventually get their attention.  Obama did let me down.  McCain would have thrown me down.
I don't want the majority of my tax dollars going to republicans.  People who profit from death and destruction.  That is my reason for liberals to vote.  I do not want insanity to become the majority.

      •  Good luck to you (0+ / 0-)

Yeah you have a pair of beauties but I maintain the lesser evil is evil.

Imagine living in Louisiana and having the choice of the Wizard or the Lizard (David Duke or Edwin Edwards).

I thought the unthinkable then.  A rational person faced with an impossible choice might have chosen to vote for the greater fool.  That choice was clear enough as horrendous as it was.

Anyway there are many of us finding the choices less stark but no less daunting.

I will do one thing for you and other good people like yourself.  I will go silent until the current election is concluded with no good result possible IMO.

just as I do.  We in the South are about to show the rest of the country what real bigotry looks like because it will all be Dixiecrat south if this election goes to the tea party crowd.  Then some folks who thought a blue dog was bad will see what a George Wallace up close and personal looks like.  It's ugly.

"road-side" supporters to feel guilty? I have not seen or read anywhere on Kos where Obama supporters are asking anyone to feel guilt concerning their decision to take a "road-side" seat this November. But I just wonder how all of you will feel two years from now when the Republicans are SPENDING your money to conduct investigations against this President, trying their best to impeach him, or trying their best to get rid of YOUR social security payments for the future???? I know I am going to be real PISSED at all of you people who have the audacity to sit out of this election just because you feel as though you have been WRONGED or that your feelings have been hurt by this President...but you know what, all of you had better beware of just what you are asking for....instead of the economy going over the cliff, this time, it just might be the WHOLE Nation....now please, go get your lawn chair and pick you a nice place by the roadside so that you can watch as the Republicans take control of the car again, but you better hope that as they are driving this time that the car doesn't run all of you "siders" over...have a blessed day!

This is not the first diary of this kind and yes some of them put on the guilt quite thick. That was the reason for my 'guilt trip' remark to save you the trouble.
"roadside supporter"! Really? You don't know a thing about me.
The Republicans will do what they want to do 2 years from now or 6 years from now and not even you can stop them. I've been around politics a very long time and have the scars to prove it. No politician can hurt my feelings, but I have to say I have never been this disappointed by anyone of them.
It escapes me how you can not be pissed by how much has already been given away without a fight. And my SS I don't think I have to wait for the Republicans to take it away, looks to me like the Democrats are already trying to figure how to do that.

I am the one ususally griping about the dems.  Then I saw some of my best friends of over 50 years talking like Nazi's and I cut them off.  They talked like it was the 60's and Obama was MLK and the communist was here and I was one of them.
I never saw such hatred in my life and we were not even talking politics.  I just turned down a HS reuinon because it was nothing more than a red winged gathering for some local politicans pretty big in the state.

If you don't think a politician cannot affect your life, you need to rethink that one.  Wars, (Civil) lynchings, and a thousand other things I could mention more than likely will happen.  Bank on it.

            •  Vetwife (0+ / 0-)

I'm sorry your friends turned on you,it's an ugly climate out there right now, but you will survive the insults.
I never said a politician won't affect my life, they do it on a daily basis. If I thought that what would be the point of voting? Or even having this discussion or what would've been the point of getting beat up at  civil rights protest?
So please, don't put words into my mouth.
You tried the guilt, the scolding, the insults and now you try panic?!

I refuse to let the babberling, idiotic Republican rip apart my President...ain't gonna happen, no matter how much you and folk like you are WILLING to throw him to the DOGS, that is YOUR option, not mind...and I am glad that NO politican can hurt your feelings, I guess that is a good thing.
