So much for unity - but the democrats, for as long as I can remember, throw true reform out the window in order to stand up as individuals. If so much wasn't at stake here, I'd say good for you. But there is too much at stake to throw the baby out with the bathwater. From HP:

of course, none of these people read the polls properly. If they did, they would find the following (TPM):
Greenberg Quinlan Rosner has issued the full findings of a poll taken Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 showing Democrats would be boosted by debating and voting on extending tax cuts for the middle class. We previewed the results this week as part of our ongoing coverage of this new pressure point on Capitol Hill. The firm finds that Democrats can narrow the gap between themselves and Republicans nationally if they aggressively campaign on extending tax cuts for the middle class only.
Fact of the matter is, these guys don't understand they are the lid on a coffin. Our party, once again, has waited and waited and waited and waited and waited (or maybe we're the one's who have waited) to wage a visible salvo against the opposition in this election cycle.
Have you seen any ads or spots that discuss the innaction of the republicans over the last four years? Any hard-core, memorable campaign spot that sears into the brains of the viewers what this election is all about in terms of healthcare, jobs and moving forward? I haven't. I've not seen a single ad. Nothing. Nada.
Yet, our elected members are happy to make press supporting tax cuts that have proven in the near term to do NOTHING for our economy, and in historic terms have performed the same - and play into a myth that some are lapdogs to the other side.
How loud do we have to scream before the democrats understand that they are GOING TO LOSE BIG if they don't support their true agenda and become hardasses? I'm completely disillusioned. I've been waiting all year for SOMETHING. Instead, we get a letter with signatures from these cowards above. I hate the idea of tough love because I'm all about outing the other side for the wrong the do (which is legion), but if nothing else works, what other choice is there than to beat them with the stick they made? Go figure.
