So I'm sitting here, procrastinating on cleaning, watching my beloved Bears play against the dreaded Cowboys (sorry Dallas fans, but I bleed blue, orange, and white) and I'm confronted with the following:
Over the jump, you will be exposed to my opinion. You are forewarned.
The secene: A line of Redcoats on top of hill in a large field, getting prepared to fire. In the distance, smoke on the horizon. Redcoats look nervous. First, I'm thinking, "oh lord, a political ad for a teabagger. Nice production value though." Then, 33 seconds in a car goes zooming over the hill with a huge, HUGE, American flag attached to it. I start laughing. Then two more cars and a Calvary join the lead car. I'm thinking, "what the hell is this?" At 41 seconds, our own General Washington appears driving the lead car. No really, he is driving the lead car. WTF? The cars and horses get closer and the Redcoats start to scramble. This comes to mind:
Back to my interrupted football game, the voice over declares, "Here's a couple of things America got right; Cars and Freedom." And then we see George standing next to his awesome beast of burden, the Challenger. Scene fades and my game comes back on. Then I see it again immediately following a time out.
So, my first impression was a hearty laugh. My second thought was who is this supposed to playing to? Obviously teanuts. My third thought is that Dodge, owned by the Chrysler Group LLC, received bailout money from us, the taxpayers, to keep their sorry asses in business and now they are spending money legitimizing a group of people who would have rather seen Chrysler's demise then give them a dime. Now, I'm pissed. We have a major corporation that received a "bailout" from we, the people, legitimizing a bunch of nutjob wanna be revolutionaries. And they are besmirching the common sense of our first President. There is no way George would have traded his beloved Nelson or Blueskin for a crappy Chrysler. I really dislike marketing...
