Powerful:
For those of you who are not in a playback-friendly environment, the ad has a series of women voters talking about how they are sick of Linda McMahon's attacks on Richard Blumenthal, highlights how as attorney general he has been advocating for legislation to help the middle class, and then hits McMahon hard by bringing up the fact that she laid off 10% of her employees while taking home $46 million.
And then, it delivers the coup de grâce:
Linda McMahon: Profits before people
Simple, direct and ouch! This is the attack line of the 2010 midterms.
Let's drop the complicated metaphors of cars and ditches and keys. Let's stop harping on the Man of Orange Who Would Be Speaker. Let's just call the Republican governing philosophy for what it is:
Profits before people.
Rand Paul thinks that poor widdle BP got abused by the Obama administration negotiating a $20 billion fund to help the victims of BP's oil spill?
Profits before people.
Sharon Angle thinks the unemployed are "spoiled"?
Profits before people.
Carly Fiorina laid off 30,000 employees when she was CEO of Hewlett-Packard, all while raking in millions of dollars in compensation for herself?
Profits before people.
Tax cuts for millionaires? Denying sick people health insurance? Trying to say that we need less regulation after the Wall Street meltdown?
Profits before people.
This is what the Republican Party has pretty much always stood for.
Make them own it.
