A few minutes ago I received a phone call from the "National Right to Work Committee." Now, while their name sounds positive enough, the fact is that the NRTWC is an anti-worker, anti-labor lobbying organization funded entirely by the same people who bring you the Republican Party and the Tea Party.
They never met a union buster they didn't love. The "National Right to Work Committee" opposes anything that will give workers a fighting chance in the labor-management world.
In this phone call, they urged me to call my two senators and ask them to vote against S3194, The Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act of 2009.
More below the fold.
S3194, introduced by that evil Harry Reid (you know, he's the one in league with Nancy Pelosi, who tried to force San Francisco values on the nation), is titled The Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act of 2009. The legislation will require states and localities to negotiate working conditions with public service employees -- firefighters, police officers, and emergency personnel.
Not surprisingly, the lobbying organizations who represent local governments are in action against the bill, along with groups such as the NRTWC, all because they want to deny to public service workers the right to form unions and to agitate for better pay and working conditions.
Of course, Kossacks are welcome to read and research the legislation then make up your own minds. However, you need to know that the right is organized and active on this one and we need to counter them in support of the people who we call upon every day to save our lives.
Read S 3194; Google it and read what the pros and cons are saying; make up your mind; call your Senators and do it now.
