This diary breaks several rules.
- The topic has been covered.
- It is short.
- I keep hitting return, so it is more than three paragraphs.
But, I beg your indulgence becuase...I AM PISSED.
If the Senate can't find the time to schedule a vote on tax cuts, why should I find the time to vote in November?
If the House can't find the time to vote on tax cuts in the next 6 weeks, why should I find the time to vote in November?
If the people I am supporting are too stupid to read public opinion polls, why should I bother to see if any Democrats are even running for office?
This is utterly ridiculous. Just when the Democrats have a bit of momentum, they do this. I am proud to say that I have voted for one Republican ever. When living in Missouri, I used to boast that I even voted for a dead person over a Republican. I vote in every general election.
And...I KNOW that a lot of good has taken place in the last two years, but..how many times can incompetent leadership screw things up????
UPDATE: Someone inadvertently convinced me to vote. Some of the judges who upheld gay marriage are on the ballot in Iowa. There is an effort to get out the vote "no" crowd. I will need to vote "yes" for those judges.
UPDATE: My point is not that the Dems have done poorly. I think a lot has been accomplished in two years. My point is that this was a political chance to win some of the seats we will most likely lose. Frankly, tax cuts aren't my thing, but it is the thing to a LOT of people.
UPDATE: It is hard to stay pissed with an orphaned baby kitten sleeping on you. Is it snoring or purring??? Still...not happy.
