Remember that ad Sestak ran on Specter near the end of the primary - this one is move devastating.
Now I'm from the "Strategically vote for Crist" school, but I think Meek just secured second place with this ad.
The ad is below the fold...
Using your opponents own words, especially via video, is the most effective campaign ad.
I don't think Meek can win, because Crist is essentially dogmeat in the middle, even if Crist dropped out, Rubio has established himself as the main stream Republican, in a purplish red state in a bad year for Dems.
Rubio has higher office aspirations, meaning he can't go teabagger in the Senate. He'll surely be to the left of the DeMint, Coburn, Inhofe crowd, to the right of the Maine pair, Brown and Graham. I'd probably peg him in the Bennett, Murkowski area of the caucus. His vote might even be had in the immigration reform legislation that should be put forth next congress.
Rubio is dangerous as a future Presidential contender, and it would be great to nip him in the bud now, but I don't think he'd he'd be all that different than Crist. Crist might caucus with Dems, but let's remember he toured the country with McCain, Lieberscum, Graham, and Palin. AT BEST he'd join the Lieberscum "Gang of X" that he's trying to put together so he and his like can run the Senate with their 10-14 votes.
Meek's best play now might be to attack both Crist and Rubio in ads - call Crist a mainstream Republican and call Rubio a fringe teabagger. Help push Crist back to stealing votes from Rubio, and then try to win with 40% of the vote.
