Liberal Sestak voted 100% with Nancy Pelosi
the banner ad at the top of DKOS proclaimed. Not exactly the most effective Sestak ad I’ve seen: but hey, voting with Pelosi – that gets my vote. But wait, this headline banner ad is actually a Toomey spot on DKOS . Since banner ads charge by click, I definitely clicked it. There’s .5 cents that Toomey can’t use somewhere else. I’ve also seen ads for the right-wing propaganda "Newsmax" as banner ads disguised as polls to express your opinion on Obama, and Palin.
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, clicking on the Toomey ad got me the following error message:
The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
my questions: To click or not to click? Obviously I didn’t continue on. Does this error message mean the Toomey webpage is doing something unethical in terms of tracking site visitors? And what is going on with these right-wing ads on KOS?
points for discussion:
Does clicking right wing websites linked to KOS help the right wing sites or hurt them?, as they are likely charged per click and I really have no interest in contributing to them or buying their propaganda.
Is there any ethical problem with clicking the ads I know I won’t support?
Does it help KOS as far as getting paid by google?

UPDATE - INFO from Webranding
I don't believe the ad at the top of the page is a Google ad. Daily Kos is also a part of a blog ad network. This makes it easier for an advertiser to purchase ads. Or really, easier for Daily Kos to sell ads without an advertising sales department. Looking at the code of the site that isn't a Google ad. Those in the sidebar (although not all) are the Google keyword ads.
I believe you are correctabout the Toomey ad I saw and thanks for the information, Webranding
