Rick Perry thinks you’ll fall for his latest cock and bull story. He’d have you believe that he "confronted" President Obama over what he calls out-of-control Washington spending. Well, he didn't. It's quite the opposite.
In April of 2009, Perry--with finger wagging and fist pumping--raged into a microphone at a Tea Party about Washington spending.
Truth is, Rick Perry wants to have it both ways. He brags about balancing the state budget. He talks tough about rejecting federal dollars from President Barack Obama’s stimulus act.
What Perry’s hiding from you is that he requested a whopping $12 billion in federal stimulus money.
Just two short months before his Tea Party appearance – in February, 2009 – Perry sent a personally signed letter to President Obama. In Perry’s letter he begged for his share of billions from the federal government to close his big, fat, gaping wound of a budget shortfall.
In just two months, Perry went from begging for billions from President Obama...to hinting at seceding from the union. Wherever you choose to hang your hat, there’s only one word for that: Hypocrisy.
Perry’s cowardly refusal both to face Texans in a public debate and to acknowledge his record-high, $21 billion budget deficit is just plain shameful. He may think he can hide his disastrous record on managing the budget, but we at Back to Basics will continue to expose his hypocrisy.
Please help us spread the word about Perry's refusal to stand up and face Texans like a man on Facebook and on Twitter!
Disclosure: Donations will be used by the Back to Basics PAC to advocate on behalf of Texans against the hypocrisy of self-serving politicians.
