Well, leaving a version without the @ sign of my e-mail apparently can get you hate mail. I suppose it was in response to my post for the Patriot News Clearinghouse last night. For what it's worth:
The Earth is Fine Dugus
There is no climate change...IT's called weather....Let's cut the "save the Earth" crap and actually prioritize creating prosperity again and celebrating the productive instead of an adminsitration that seems to celebrate human garbage and degeneracy...
If you idiots really believe that CO2 is changing the earth's climate, maybe you should all put a plastic bag on your head and kill yoruselves? The Earth and we Earthlings would apprecite if we could get rid of feckless morons that don't seem to understand that if there was an issue then all the proponents wouldn't have to bribe scientists with trillions and they wouldn't hve to keep falsifying data (or do you think false data shows validity of a thesis? Let me guess you think AL Gore is climate expert? LOL, LOL
My response below (why did I bother?).
Sir --
I'm in receipt of your e-mail and am puzzled by a few things.
First of all, what is a Dugus? It seems that teh socialist Google that I use is unaware of the existence of that word. Is it some weird combination of doofus and bogus?
Creating prosperity by the use of oil and coal wouldn't be such a hot idea in my opinion over the long term, though the supposedly corrupt administration that "celebrates human garbage and degeneracy" seems to support the use of "clean" coal, and also expanding offshore oil exploration. Maybe that's something you didn't know. Google it.
Secondly, how did you get my name? I suppose you must read Daily Kos or you wouldn't have e-mailed me. Damn ... I guess "they" were right that I shouldn't put anything even remotely resembling e-mail in my profile there. Though I must say, your e-mail was a unexpected surprise, better than a cup of joe to get me awake.
Third, you suggest that the Obama administration celebrates human garbage and degeneracy. How are they doing that? By supporting civil rights for all people? I also suspect you must be unaware of what some of (and I'm guessing here) the candidates you favor have been doing. For example, David Vitter who had the audacity to run (and win) his primary despite his history with prostitutes. At least ex-governor Spitzer had the decency to resign. There are many other examples of such hypocrisy over a long list of ethical and legal problems on the part of the kind of politicians you likely support. And One name: Jack Abramoff, who lobbied on behalf of a U.S. territory in the Pacific, the Northern Mariana Islands to prevent U.S. labor laws from being enforced there. What were companies doing there? Basically using the employees as slaves, at 1/2 U.S. minimum wage, 12 hour days, 7 days a week. Forcing them to have abortions if they were pregnant. While I'm at it, I'll throw in another name involved in this: Tom DeLay, just for fun.
Fourth, if all the people that understand that CO2 is a greenhouse gas (a scientific fact that has been known, by the way, since 1859) and thus is increasing the surface temperature (first hypothesized in about 1895) were to die, their decomposition would increase the amount of CO2 (and methane) significantly. Wouldn't be a very logical thing to do, would it, if we "believe" in global warming?
Fifth ... define feckless. If you mean ineffectual, I'll agree that Democrats have generally been feckless. But hardly in the way you mean. Many of them have been far, far too beholden to Luddite Republicans who are far more interested in winning than in any examination of what would be good for the good old U.S.A. Offshoring jobs? Sure, it's good for the multinational corporations who give us our $$.
Sixth ... trillions of dollars? Let's see what the carbon energy industry can potentially contribute. Net profits of over $100 billion per year, apparently. And plenty of $$ to contribute to organizations with nice names like "Americans for Prosperity", when what they really mean is Koch Brothers (owners of the 7th largest oil company in the world, and one of the, if not THE, biggest contributors to "Americans for Prosperity") for profit.
Seventh ... falsifying data? Really? Independent investigators disagree, but you probably won't believe them, since the carbon industry-funded organizations, which couldn't possibly have an agenda on the issue of climate change, tells you not to. And where are the supposed "trillions" of dollars funding climate research? The NASA, NOAA, and DOE budgets in the U.S. total about $63 billion, and much of that money is not used for climate research ... likely much less than half. Looks like the profits of the oil, coal, and gas companies in the U.S. far exceed what can be spent by the U.S. government, probably by a factor of 10.
Finally, Al Gore is not a climate expert. A climate expert has an advanced degree in atmospheric or related earth science, and has done long term research into how earth's climate system works. Al Gore is, however, a spokesman who represents those of us concerned with this issue, and he's pretty effective at it, or you wouldn't be dissing him as you do in your e-mail. While some of the information in his documentary wasn't correct, the lion's share of it was.
