Welcome my barley malted brethren to another edition of Friday Night Beer Blog. We come her to talk about the issues of the day, but mostly, we just drink beer, or do whatever else makes us mellow out on a Friday night.
Let's talk IL politics really quickly. Alexi Giannoulias is ahead of Mark Kirk by three points in the latest poll, and Governor Quinn is within striking distance of the rightwingnutjob Bill Brady in the race for Governor.
Now onto the enthusiasm gap. It was reported today that early voters in the democratic strongholds of Cleveland and Columbus are dwarfing even the 2008 election, and in Iowa, the Dems are coming out strong early.
Edit to add a thought I had today: I think the Log Cabin Republicans challenged DADT to try to pit the LBGT community against the Dems. I think they did it as part of a grand strategy of the Corporatist, I mean Republican, Party.
So enough about this fucking election. Everything is going to be alright, rockabye. Just do what you can with money, calls, and getting people to the polls.
