As if we needed any more examples of global warming, and how it is getting worse as James Inhofe and his gang of environmental rapists don't give a damn, data from The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, (NOAA), came out with some shocking numbers about this year's global temperatures.
According to the National Climate and Data Center, the months January through September ties 1998 for the warmest average global temperatures in recorded history. For the year to date the average temperature was 58.67 degrees. That is a whopping 1.17 degrees above the 20th century average.
The combined global land and ocean temperature for September 2010 also tied 1998 for the eighth warmest month on record at 59.9 degrees.
Also the September land record was the ninth warmest on record.
It was warmest over North America, The Middle East, central and eastern Europe, (Remember the great Russian heat wave this year??), and northeastern Asia, as much as 2.2 degrees above normal.
Arctic sea is at 1.89 million square miles, that is down over 30%, and the third lowest extent for sea ice on record.
