I haven't been writing much, but I thought this was too good to pass up and since Beth Krom has out raised our incumbent Congressman this last quarter, I thought it was a good time to sing her praises here at Daily Kos.
Not only did Beth Krom out raise John Campbell $143,000 to his $109,000, more than 90% of her donations came from individuals rather than pacs as opposed to almost the exact opposite from Campbell, he received more than 70% of his donations from corporate PAC's.
But this is the message that made me proud of Krom because it's one that I think, as Democrats, we need to shout more loudly.
"What's to Resist?"
Follow me...
Like you, I’m tired of watching people run for public office on an “I hate government” platform. Sadly, for people like John Campbell, it’s all they’ve got. Worse still, when they win – we lose.
Can you imagine kids being taught by people who don’t value education? How about going to a doctor who doesn’t believe in modern medicine or hiring a lawyer who doesn’t believe in the judicial system – would any of us expect that to work out well?
Unfortunately, in America today, there is a wave of negativity in politics that is hurting our country. Disrespect has replaced statesmanship, and on a daily basis, we see politicians use their platform to rant and rave, rather than focusing on finding solutions to the serious challenges we face as a nation. They’d rather inflame than inform. They’d rather attack than address. They’d rather enrage than engage.
Case in point: John Campbell. His campaign slogan is “Join the Resistance.”
As far as I can tell, the only thing John Campbell is resisting is serving the people he represents. Since he’s been in Washington, he’s consistently resisted supporting equal pay for women, extending loan programs for college students, enhancing veteran’s health benefits, funding border security, securing research funding for UCI, increasing Medicare funding, negotiating drug prices and leveraging tax credits to help small businesses.
On Election Day, we can show John Campbell that we have the power to resist his rhetoric and restore our seat at the table in Washington.

I mean, isn't she right? Aren't we tired of the whole, shrink the Government so it's small enough to drown in the bath tub mentality? If it's so awful, why do you want to run it?
Sure, we know the answers, because it's profitable to be in charge of all that privatization, it's a racket actually. But it doesn't actually serve the whole purpose of good governance.
And how is he responding to his opponent Beth Krom? Well, he didn't show up to last week's Congressional debate. And he doesn't have time to discuss his campaign...
Campbell – normally an accessible lawmaker – is set to meet with the Register's editorial board Wednesday, but said through a spokeswoman last week that he would not have 10 minutes to discuss his race in the 48th District, which covers much of central and south Orange County.

What is there to resist?
And what is John Campbell best known for?
So, what I'm hoping for his a Congressperson who doesn't resist the good that Government can do for people. I'm tired of John Campbell and I just can't resist the idea of having Beth Krom be my Congresswoman.
Beth is smart, she's accessible and she's passionate about what she does. This isn't just about how wrong John Campbell is for the job, but just how amazing Beth Krom is as well.
