After weeks of silence from Mama Grizzly, she comes out of hibernation with a roar. Upset at Lisa's comment that 'Joe Miller isn't fit to lead,' at Sunday's KTUU Debate, Mama Bear decided it was time to come to Baby Bear's rescue.
First, she hits the electronic media pretty hard with Twitter and Facebook. Just to remind you of her popularity among Tea Party conservatives, over 4,000 people like her Facebook comment.
She caps it off with a fundraising appeal sent directly through Miller's campaign to his supporters.
The Alaska Dispatch is reporting that the new fundraising appeal was sent out via the Miller campaign but has Palin written all over it. The subject line, "Sarah Palin: Everything to Lose" and the closing statement, "With an Alaskan heart."
Her initial plug better fits McAdams than it does Miller:
Alaska needs a senator who will fight for fiscal sanity, support the brave men and women serving in our military, and have the courage to protect the natural beauty of the Last Frontier. Joe Miller will fight for Alaska's opportunities to develop our natural resources and put Alaskans TO WORK!
And she goes on to make the contest look like it's two way:
They can vote for the status quo -- the career politicians who helped get our country in this economic mess -- or they can vote for common sense conservatives like Joe Miller.
And, as I recommend doing for LTE's in my series, A Week In Letters, she ends her request with a zinger:
Public service should be an honor not a family dynasty.
Palin's fundraising request isn't unlike Murkowski's advertisement to absentee voters that I received a couple of weeks ago. Both Palin and Murkowski seem to forget that this a three-way race. Neither of them mention the word Democrat or the name McAdams. It's like they're hoping everyone will just forget he's there.
Guess what folks? We won't forget. Now is the time to send half-term Governor Palin a message. As McAdams staffer, JasonArthurSmith said in tonight's diary, Funny Business at the Polls:
More than ever, we need your help to put up the fight. I anticipated recount issues, Election Day issues and irregularities resulting from unintentional oversight, but I didn't anticipate the full weight of the Division of Elections pushing for tricky methods to help Lisa Murkowski.
I was naive. I won't be again. If you can lend a hand, now is the time to do it. Every dollar, every call, every link you post on Facebook or Tweet you send supporting our campaign is a great help. We're making our final ad buys, printing our last batch of fliers, ordering our last batches of yard signs. If you were planning on supporting us but have been waiting, the time for waiting is over.
That's my emphasis. We need your help. Scott needs your help. We have one week to help him win this election outright!
Here's what you can do:

Contact the campaign and volunteer to help. I'm making out of state calls via Skype. It's easy and it's affordable.

Because I was elected at a young age to be a delegate to Alaska's Constitutional Convention, I've outlived most of our state's founders, leaving me with the responsibility of passing on to today's voters some of the values I carry from those days.
My friends were Democrats and Republicans. I include Democrats Bill Egan, Ernest Gruening and Bob Bartlett, as well as Republicans Wally Hickel, Bob Atwood and Jay Hammond. And Ted Stevens too.
In this year's election for U.S. Senate, there is one thing that's been said that I think all these men would agree with: It's about Alaska. That's Scott McAdams' slogan, his belief and his life story, and I support him. Here's why.
