I've been wondering. If Kerry gets less than 50% of the delegate vote, how will the other candidates align themselves with each other? Would they work together to stop Kerry?
There seems to be little animosity between Edwards, Clark, and Dean, so would they decide together to throw their delegates to the one who has the most? Kucinich would clearly recommend his delegates go to Edwards.
I wonder if Edwards telling Dean to "call him" has anything to do with pre-alignment negotiations?
I don't see any of them wanting to align with Kerry. Not a one.
I hope D-C-E have this opportunity. But I am afraid by splitting the anti-Kerry vote between them, few of them will reach the 15% threshold. In that case, Kerry will increase his share and may hit 50%.
If only an anti-Kerry could be identified soon. Or if only Kerry would slip up and at least one of these guys would pass him by in every state. I wouldn't mind if they all stayed in, so long as Kerry went down.
I wouldn't mind if in the end the three of them sat down in a room and decided who the nominee would be amongst themselves - I would trust all three of them to choose wisely.
(Of course, I'm talking about how they would recommend that their delegates vote, which might or might not work. Obviously they wouldn't just 'choose'.)
Just wondering.
