Fortunately, or unfortunately, John Kasich is "pullin’ a Palin." That’s my term for acting like the quitter, radically, extreme Republican, Teabagger darling Sarah Palin. She is a true representation of "radical Republican" values. She represents the true base nature of former or current elected conservatives. (More)
"Pullin a Palin" includes being a prima donna:
a temperamental person; a person who takes adulation and privileged treatment as a right and reacts with petulance to criticism or inconvenience.
Sarah only goes on Fixed News to recite talking points and uses Twitter so that she does not actually have to answer pesky question from reporters or regular citizens. She also seems to have trouble with showing up to events and bails out at the last minute. Whether it is cowardice or the act of a prima donna, the result is the same. We all remember her massive failure when interviewed by Katie Couric of CBS News.
So since Sarah Palin is such a great and admirable person for about whom imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I refer to her when I reference John Kasich. He "pulled a Palin" on Monday, October 25. John Kasich and Ted Strickland were invited to appear on a live NPR show called "Talk of the Nation." It is notable for being a call-in show with very little filtering. John "pulled a Palin" 10 minutes before he was scheduled to appear. Governor Strickland appeared and answered callers’ questions.
Now, if you are running for the office of Governor of my great state of Ohio, you cannot expect to get only softball questions from admiring fans and conservative news media. You will be asked and have to answer questions that are not so warm and fuzzy. He didn’t know that it was a call-in show with non-screened questions? Didn’t his staff know what the deal was before he agreed to appear?
At first, I thought that this was an attempt at solidarity with his fellow FIXED News commentator Juan Williams who got fired from NPR. Now, it seems to me that it is either an act of cowardice or an act of over-confidence. I am glad that I already voted for Mr. Strickland.
This is what a fellow kossack has to say.
Here is John Kasich in Westerville:
This is may be his way of showing confidence by preaching to his own choir. But by thumbing his nose at people who want to ask him uncomfortable questions. I think he makes it clear how he really feels.
Here is some more bad news from the Kasich camp, from the Ohio progressive website Plunderbund. Not sure I believe the non-elitist idea of a former Congressman and former VP of failed Lehman Brothers and who is running for office and will not disclose his tax records, but maybe they are running out of money since I see a lot of John Kasich commercials (I change the channel right away). I hope Anthony Fossaceca is right about the Kasich campaign, and more from my friend Anthony. Here is and more bad news for the Kasich campaign.
By what manner, John Kasich pulls "a Palin". It doesn’t matter since I am glad that I voted. I voted for Ted Strickland and the other Democrats on the Ohio ballot.
When the radical Republicans win, the fix is in. And the fix is against us. So please support our Democratic candidates:
Ted Strickland and Yvette McGee Brown for Governor and Lt. Governor
Lee Fisher for U.S. Senate
Richard Cordray for Attorney General
Maryellen O’Shaughnessy for Secretary of State
David Pepper for Auditor
Kevin Boyce for Treasurer
Donate to each individually, or to Chris’s swear jar (Ohio Democratic Party). If you can’t give money, volunteer time by canvassing and phone-banking. Encourage other like minded people to vote.
Hope and progress can conquer fear and intransigence. To paraphrase Warren Ballentine, "We may have come here on separate ships but we’re in the same boat now".
Please remember to vote because
1.People matter more than profits.
2.The earth is our home, not our trash can.
3.We need good government for both #1 and #2.
Corollary: Republicans cannot provide good government.

A mighty fist bump to you all!
UPDATE:
I neglected to mention the two Democrats who are running for the Ohio Supreme Court. Thanks to Anastasia P for the reminder.
Chief Justice Eric Brown already on the bench due to a death.
Judge Mary Jane Trapp is running as well.
It would be helpful to remember their names since party affiliation is not on the ballot for judges. The Ohio Supreme court is in the pocket of large corporations. To paraphrase: Don Coreleone has all of the politicians and judges in his pocket. Looks like the courts have been taken over by corporate interests....another reason why I voted for Democrats only.
