Friday night during his final debate with challenger Charlie Melancon, David Vitter spent four uncomfortable minutes talking about his use of the D.C. Madam's call girl ring while serving in the United States Senate.
The weird thing is that while he claimed to have fully apologized for his "serious sin" he wouldn't acknowledge whether he broke the law or not while committing that sin. And Vitter said that the voters of Louisiana have forgiven him, but he wouldn't say exactly what it is they forgave him for.

All the pundits have predicted a blowout, dismissing Melancon's prospects, but whatever happens on Tuesday, this isn't the way David Vitter wanted to end his campaign -- and it's not the message he wants to send to Louisiana's evangelical voters.
