This is gonna be a short one, but I have a brief thought I'd like to share with all of you in the face of ignominious defeat.
The last DNC leader to lead us to victory was Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont. Following the 2008 elections, he was replaced by Tim Kaine as head of the DNC. The results of that change are apparent today.
My impression, following the 2008 election was that Dean was replaced as DNC chairman because the incoming chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel couldn't stand him. Rahm also never cared for Dean's masterpiece of Democratic activism, The 50 State Strategy.
The 50 State Strategy WORKED. Despite all the naysaying from the hippie-punching brigade,it worked. Abandoning it means that now we're looking down the barrel of triangulation, AGAIN.
It took us a decade to get our shit together last time we lost the house. I say we skip to the end, and bring back Howard Dean. Rahm is gone, it's time to get back to winning strategies.
