Republican candidate Brian Dubie has conceded the governor's race to Democrat Peter Shumlin, handing the former Senate president pro-tem the victory. Channel 3 has a crew at the Dubie camp right now and we'll bring you a full report on the Channel 3 News at Noon.

This was a nail biter. If both candidates had been under 50%, we would have seen this in the Statehouse....in JANUARY.

BURLINGTON—Governor-elect Peter Shumlin will hold his first press conference after winning Vermont's governor's race today at noon in the Adirondack Ballroom of the Burlington Hilton.
Washington, D.C. – Gov. Jack Markell, chair of the Democratic Governors Association, issued the following statement tonight regarding Peter Shumlin’s victory in the Vermont gubernatorial election.
“Peter Shumlin has a bright vision for the future of Vermont, and voters responded to his optimism. When he and I campaigned together last week, it was clear that his top priorities are creating good high-paying jobs in Vermont and preserving the state’s quality of life. We look forward to welcoming him to the group of Democratic governors.”
The DGA invested more than $1 million in the race.
