This may a grumpy post on my part after the bloodbath we had in Kansas and Missouri Statewide. Many progressives are holding Obama accountable for losing so many seats last night. He should be held accountable, but is a primary really the answer?
No. Don't get me wrong I think Obama has not done as good as job as could have done. I don't think a primary is the answer though. Remember Jimmy Carter?
I believe there are two possible answers.
Option A. Clean house. I believe if certain people in the Obama house were gone this could make a HUGE differance. The first person to go should be Tim Geithner. He is an awful Teasury Secretary. I also think Robert Gibbs needs to go, I think PR and image is a big part of Obama's problem and Gibbs is not helping. Sadly, Obama probably won't get rid of either of them.
Option B. Convince Obama to step down. This probably won't happen either, but something tells me he might get burnt out. I really like Obama as a person and it pains me to say it, but I think he is too weak. We need someone who is tougher on the republicans and can keep the Blue Dogs in line, though most of those are gone. That person would also need to be electable ofcourse, maybe Howard Dean or someone like that. I just wish I knew how we could convince Obama to step down if he can't do a better job in the next couple months. I really hope things do get better so the party doesn't fall apart, but things are not looking good.
