Just an opinion, one I am probably completely unqualified to make. However the internet is all about unqualified people expressing their opinions:-)
So we may luck out with Dan Malloy winning the Governorship of Connecticut. Which gives The Democrats and The President a beautiful opportunity.
We know Joe Lieberman loves Israel (and I mean that sincerely, not in a snarky manner)
So how about this? The President should offer up position of Ambassador to Israel to Joe Lieberman. That would be something I think he would have a difficult time turning down, its inevitable that he will either retire or be defeated in 2012. What a better way to retire than to be the ambassador to a country he has great affection for. The current ambassador was appointed by Bush anyways, and Lieberman would have no problem being confirmed by The Senate.
The benefit of this deal would that it would give Dan Malloy an opportunity to appoint Lieberman's replacement. Potentially giving us a reliable vote in The US Senate. We no longer would have to chronically repeat W.W.J.D. "What Will Joe Do?"
It's a win win!
